Biography

Claire is the President of the Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation. An expert in infectious diseases, Dr. Pomeroy continues to lead an active research team studying host responses to viral infections. She has held several academic leadership positions serving as the Chief of Infectious Diseases and the Associate Dean for Research and Informatics at the University of Kentucky (UK), and as the as the Dean and Vice Chancellor for the University of California (UC) Davis healthcare system. She currently serves on the board of trustees for Morehouse School of Medicine, and on the VA National Academic Affiliations Council. In 2011, Dr. Pomeroy was inducted into the Institute of Medicine and was also elected as member-at-large-representative for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) – medical sciences section.
